I literally did throw my Epson 870 out the window and bought me a Canon 9100 and I've never looked back. I just wish my office would get something else, we have an Epson 1280 that's completely arse.

Bush us SHIT. what is wrong with USA?

I have the 1200 and the printing quality is quite nice. It's fast and quiet, prints up to 13x19 and if you use the right paper, the prints are almost flawless. It's the interface that got all screwy once I upgraded to Panther.

yeah, i haven't upgraded it for a while..and i am on a mac.
thanks for the help everyone. i am currently downloading an update.
sorry for the late response, been away.

Yo... did you correct this problem Dutchboy?
- DutchBoy0
yeah. at least it shows me all the tools now..
perhaps it was panther issue..
going to do a cleanup now..
- DutchBoy0
it took me 2 rounds and it is almost clean now.
not clean enough tho..

I had the same printer for 4 years- works great here.
- dopepope0

- dopepope0
calling DutchBoy....

hey man, if it's not clean enough, seriously check out http://www.inkjetart.com/tips/cl…
i cleaned my photoEX like this and it's been awesome for ink saturation. it's a bit of a bitch though, but it's worth it

i do love my epson, but maintaining that thing and wasting paper and ink has just got on my nerves too much. i have the 1280 and it has been great but i get in a situation where i need to output some quick 13x19 prints for clients and i don't have time to reprint stuff do to black splotches all over the place.
i've been researching the Canon i9900 for awhile and think that will be my next printer.

This printer is fighting me every step of the way. I'm doing all the trouble shooting that I can do. I'm finding all the utilities and drivers and everything I can do is greyed out. I can't do anything.

Get the Canon Auricom, I had the same beef with my Epson and the Canon is easily 10x faster and the quality and colour accuracy is much better, and no ink splotches like the bloody Epson.
- dopepope0
My beef is with the software not the printer quality. What was once easy to do in os9, is now a damned project to get done in Panther. Stupid!
- dopepope0
calling DutchBoy once again.
- BonSeff0
dopepope, you got the epson rip?
- DutchBoy0
dopepope.. i just went to the epson site and downloaded the latest package..
apparently it contained the utility app that was not installed when i upgraded to panther..
it drops it inside the utility folder inside applications folder on your system hd.
it also adds a shortcut inside your applications folder.
it did the job alright.
still not perfect, but ok for basic prints.
i am really looking out for different printers lately...
i need to read more about quality and shit... like tests/comparisons.

Thanks man. I'll try that. But I actually have the damned utility and it doesn't do anything. But I'll give it a go. I'm annoyed about it, but my computer is pretty buggy like that. For instance, I can't even scan from my little Canon without having to start up classic to run Canoscan Toolbox. My PScs doesn't want to recognize the scanner no matter how many times I reinstall the latest driver.
