how so? antialiasing?

Turn it into a symbol either a graphic or movie clip depending on your need. Then adjust your advanced color settings in Flash. It'll make them look just like they look when displayed in PS.

make sure the smoothing is off on the imported PNGs (in the properties in the Library).

still getting alot of distrotion. all images are set to png without smoothing, publishing quality is set to 100 and I'm still getting artefacts on the png's in the swf??
any ideas :(((

Add a transparent border of 2 or 3 pixels around the .png. That usually does the trick for me.

how do you mean sklassen? crop the image to leave a few extra pixels?
thanks

yeah, well just take the existing image and go to the canvas size and add a few pixels to the width and height.
i don't have any idea why that seems to help, but it does. it was something i learned and always had to do at my last job.

did you try breaking it apart then convert to a graphic, did u use save for web from ps or just save as
- UndoUndo0
save for web. png24 with transparency.?
- level20
make sure the x and y placement of the png is a whole number (not like 25.37).
- cruz_azul0
well the save for web will give u a color matte around the image...but it will make the file size smaller, i normally just go with save as and mess with it in flash

Save for web - 24bit png - 3 extra pixels top/bottom/left/right - set to no smoothing and lossless in flash.
Should come out identical to PS.

Something is not right if you have to save 3 extra pixels to make it work.
Right now I have a file that has a 768px X 800px PNG background. I works perfectly with smoothing off and lossless. The swf size is 28k and it looks perfect after doing some color adjustment with the advance settings in Flash.

Don't think you need it for all images - just small ones with transparent borders seem to distort around 2 of the edges without the borders.
Larger images or images without transparency don't seem to be affected.

i'm working with intricate brands and I've found the best solution is from fireworks using the png32 setting. they're all pukka. The larger images look fine from PS.
thanks for all your feedback & help
