Flash SUPER slow

on my pc, which is fairly new, with a gig of ram, when using flash, everything i do, brings up the hourglass.. even selecting a symbol takes about 5 seconds...then to try and move it.. if I hit the arrow key once, 2 seconds.. Anyone have any idea why? It's only flash that acts this way, and yes, it's a legal copy. any help would be greatly appreciated.

have you scanned for adware lately? A reporter at work had some spyware that maxed her pc out to 100% memory usage.
just a thought.

ya. everything is fine. and every other program works perfectly.. ps, aftereffects, etc.. it's Just flash... it's driving me crazy!

yeah, what dobs said. that happened to me and it took me like a week to figure it out and fix it. what a pain in the ass!
since it's only flash that is slow though probably means theat this is not the case.

BTW, It's with flash MX, and/or MX 2004.

install the Ellipsis update:
http://macromedia.com/software/f…the slowness was a known bug of MX2k4, i think. This update should help...

weird stuff..
scan for virus'/ spyware.
uninstall flash, every registry entry also..anything that has to do with flash. delete it..i had this prob with msn messenger awhile ago where it would overload my memory usage if there were to many emoticons being used in a chat..so i uninstalled it and deleted everythin that had to do with msn messenger in the registry.

uninstalled flash. Deleted everyhting in the registry having to do with flash. Installed Flash MX pro, and then installed the Ellipsis update, and now it's actually Worse!! i can't use it at all.. takes at least 10 seconds to select a symbol.. I can't even scale a panel... could someone please come here and Kill me. thanks.

when i view my cpu usage when flash is open, any click inside flsh sends it to 100%. a ram test shows my ram is fine, no viruses. and it's the only program I have trouble with.... A Gmail account to the person who helps me!... i know.. it's not much.. but it's all i got..

are you sure your ram is fine... run memtest overnight , checking your ram should take around 12 hrs or more..
