i have to say that it is frustratingly slow and v.confusing site to use... I appreciate that it probably looks really great on the boards when you presented 2 the client and probably a lot of time was spent on the implementation but i don't think many people will appreciate it as it is running really slowly even on my superfast computer at work...
- Donvitoviti0
i am running it on a G4 1ghz
it runs a bit slow but not bad at allHow are you having problems if your computer is super fast????
Believe me we did lots of testing....
- pooch0
all we really need to see is cool screenshots and trailers of actual play right???
flash couldn't even do the new version justice.
keep it simple.
- Donvitoviti0
sometimes i wonder about you guys
- pooch0
not trying to be negative.
i just think that the approach is wrong.
obvious talent and skill went into it though.
- Donvitoviti0
how can you crit the approach when you dont even know what xbox wanted us to do.
Typical NT
- pooch0
because i play tons of games.
i'm the consumer.
i don't want a star wars like flash site.
i want screenshots and trailer with no loading and easy navigation.
- Donvitoviti0
Yes, Understood.
But ... you already have
bungie.net
xbox.com
where all that lives.

Donvi, i think the site is very nice, it captures the feel of the game and is excellently done, but it really is slow. Im on a 1.2 Ghz PC at work and its real choppy.
- Donvitoviti0
oh ok.. i thought you said your computer was fast... 1.2ghz PC is not fast.
the site was designed for 1ghz and above. Yes it will be slow at the low end. Just dont shoot the messenger :)

I have to agree with pooch on this one. The site is amazingly difficult to navigate. Also, is it just me or do 3 of the 4 buttons on the bottom nav all link to the same screenshots download section? Seems like no matter what I click on, I get sent there. Extremely frustrating...
- Donvitoviti0
I understan gabe.
Sometimes I think everybody overthinks here.
Its an alien interface. Its an exploratory interface. The whole site is meant to explore and learn.
No they dont link to the same section. You must be in the section with the Desktops.. which also has 3 password protected areas.

un-intuitive...

dood, me and my buddies who were all part of the Amazing Pickles (the #2 ranked Halo clan in the US) think this site is pretty horrible. I agree completely with many of the others who think it should be a simple and straight forward site that gives you what you want. Way over-done and the flash is choppy.
I am on the fastest G5 known to man too btw. LIQUID COOLED nucka.

I clicked on some thing that I thought was a screenshot and it went to download a zip file, of what I figure are desktop images. No fault of yours donv, but this site assumes you have played halo before. Completely alienating people who may buy the game that didnt have halo 1.
- gabriel_pc0
in defense of the site, it is pretty cool visually, I'm just getting hung up on the navigation. It would've been cool to maybe have a "puny human" translator option.
- Donvitoviti0
of all people who i though would understand the site.. are the ones who get hung up on screenshots etc when you have 2 fully robust sites out there... xbox.combungie.net that are even linked to on the site.
I give up
- Donvitoviti0
true gabe but thats not the point of the site... the point was to find the translation if you really wanted to... view visuals.. explore.. and if you want more.. go to the linked bungie.net and xbox.com
- graymatter0
look man. We are being honest. I respect your desire to try something different. BUT IT IS NOT WORKING. This is a common issue in design. You posted your work up for us to look at and we are being honest. You can't sell us on the whole, there is xbox.com and bungie.net thing. I could make a more user friendly and understandable site about Halo 2 and make it accessable to new players and old players in about 5 minutes.
- gabriel_pc0
you can't expect everybody to bow down and worship a site like that. experimental is one thing, frustratingly difficult to navigate is another...
