you want to use a pixel font in large sizes for print, but still keep the relative weight of the font when it is blown up. so it doesn't look super chunky. right?

just do what jazx said. stretch it out in illustrator.

I made the number 0 or letter 0 in photoshop and it looks like: check my NT image.

justus normal text in photoshop and fuck with the antialisaing. if you have studio mx use fireworks and set it to crisp antialiasing on the text.

JazX how do you make a typeface look like that in Illustrator? when i export for the web I get smoother curves, if you look at my example its all pixel in one solid color, not different shades making up a curve.

tny i said i would make each pixel 8x8 rather then 1x1 then make the edges look like curves rather then take away one 8x8 block.

do the type in photoshop, bitmap mode
if you need it vector you could load it as a selection and make paths, .5 pixel tolerance, but I'm not sure if it would preserve the total squareness of the pixels
