seems as if they just have those teardrop shapes in white enlarge to cover the previous image, then have one layer of teardrop masks with an outer white version of them expand at the same time.
it sems pretty straight-forward although my description even confuses me : )

Note: using a movieclip as a mask only degrades to version 6 of the flash player I think - possibly even only in 7? But I am pretty sure 6. You can't use it in 5

mask animation
-photomask animation
-white backgroundthe masking animation is a movieclip.
the animation masking the white background starts first, then the animation masking the photo starts a lil later giving you the white border.

it deprecates to v. 6

snap.. i didnt know you could have moving movie clips as masks.
- scarabin0
man, they seriously overused that teardrop.

nice effect.
but a 'little bit' overdone, don't you think?
- shellie0

as stated earlier, the same movie clip used as a mask[on a image and on a white background moiveclip with a little delay between each mc.

i'm more interested with the text effects. seen it yugop's navigation also. charCodeAt() maybe?
- level20
The changing text is like Yugop's. www.yugop.com - nice site though
- level20
how does charCodeAt() work?
- ok_not_ok0
moock's definition:
String.charAtCode() = retrieve the code point of the character at a specific position in a string
- function820
charCodeAt() works just like charAt() but returns the unicode of the letter.
message = "Alphabet"
message.charAt(0) returns A
message.charCodeAt(0) returns 65, A's unicode
- level20
So, to get that effect with the text, you have to have a movie clip telling dynamic text to switch to the unicode #?
I've been trying to figure out how Yugop did it.
