2 dogs?

I have two dogs and on one hand its definitely more work. I can travel anywhere with one dog but not two.
But it's so worth it because my one dog now has a playmate. I don't feel as guilty because they are best friends.
Maybe you should get a slightly smaller dog?

what if you got 1 small dog? so it wouldn't be like a whole dog, just half of one.

Big dogs are no problem.
It's when they are pups that they are the hardest to control. If you bring them up right and they have place to release all that energy, they will be fine indoors.
I lived in a house with a small yard with my three big dogs for 4 years. I was lucky enough to live close to the levie on the Mississippi to take them rinning everyday.

room to run 'em is a HUGE issue. or at least have the time to get them out...

a 2nd dog is good if the first one is the type that needs stimulation. plus you get that whole pack mentality going on. the dog you have now will run the show in the backyard
you can find purbred dogs at the pound too and those same problems that come with purebreds can come with mixedbreeds. you don't always know if the characteristics from the breed mixtures are the GOOD ones.

sputnik, you will love a shepard. I grew up around them and my mom raised them. great dogs. not intrusive, hard working, friendly, good tempermant.

pffffft! i say do it. We just got a miniature schnauzer in February. And when we got engaged, I asked for a puppy instead of an engagement ring. Gonna try to find me a siberian husky (or siberian mix) after Thanksgiving.

I've often thought about this, a buddy for my buddy when Im in work, but i just couldnt handle the whole shitting on the floor and chewing everything I own scenarios again, not for a while anyway

Gorbiethat would be the one I'd end up getting. I picked my leopard gecko because she had a crooked/broken jaw and no one else would take her. But she won the fight, damnit! That other lizard dropped its tail!

DIY dog pen
- 30 ft deer fense 4'+ height.
- Fold four times into a square(see square tread)
- bailing wire or carabiner the opening.
Shoes are safe
