Someone is selling 6 9-week old golden's!!
Somone kick some sense into me before I buy one for my wife's birthday!
We already have an 8-month weimaraner!

heh, can't talk you outta that one. I'm in the midst of a wife that wants a boxer AND wants to go to London.
London is gonna come first evidently.

dont do it, 2 dogs is a part time job.

adopt a mutt from the pound...much more gratifying.
those purebreads are nothing but trouble, medical wise.
- gruntt0
they'll join forces.
one will be playing fetch while the other takes a crap in your closet.
they'll take turns doing this.

2 dogs will take care of each other.
we have talked about it for a while.
the initial work would be time consuming, but after time they will have each other for playpals.

2 dogs @ once will make you paranoid. You'll always be looking around and muting the TV because you think you heard something.

Go for it. I have two wonderful dogs. Had three. They are the only thing that can make me happy through anything.
My Zydeco's mom was a Golden Retriever. Great disposition, super loyal, good with other dogs...

Just be sure you are able to bring him somewhere he can get his energy out. They have alot.

I have two dogs and it's my wife full time job, or at least she makes it so.
The older dog perked up quite a bit when the puppy came long, and they do kept each other busy
Unfortunately, I've lost like 8 pairs of shoes in the last 17 months though. My fault really...

argh...conflicting opinions clouding judgement!
if we had a big back yard...it'd be a no-brainer!! we do live next to city park though....
omg what am I thinking! I stress out enough with one dog trying to eat all my shoes!

aah...2 dogs will need a big back yard.
that is one of our requirements for a new place...room to run for doggies.

I agree with sherman, we have a boston terrier and a cocker spaniel and it was a lot of work at first when they were getting to know eachother, but after a few weeks they'll just starting playing with eachother when my wife or I are too busy to toss the ball around. plus just watching them interact with eachother by far outweighs any extra burden...
