what about putting the (R) back in the brown bubble? Seems superfluous to me, sitting out there.

Irreverence without poetry? Irreverence without meaning?
--Just to answer your questions 5lb.. When I spoke of irreverence - i was speaking of my company name - which as stated before - has a lot of meaning.. but little on the surface.
the thought behind the logo mark and design began as wanting something modern yet approachable (which is why i'm pleased by certain feedback). I have a bunch of conservative clients - but i don't wish to stay soley in this comfort zone. I want more.
the mark is by intention - simple and rough. I want something versatile, simple, semi-ambiguous, and fun. The shape is loosely based on a speach bubble as in my short period under this name - i've found my company name works well as a greeting too. I didn't want anything too specific.
For the type treatment i've chosen two Process Foundry typefaces. Fig Script and Kettler.
Fig has an ultra modern shape but retains a very friendly feel because of it's hand-drawn cursive base.
Kettler will be used as the main text on all collateral. I wanted a mono-spaced type and knew this was the one. The best description available comes from their website:
"Designed in 1955 by Howard G. Kettler for the IBM bar typewriter and later adapted for the Selectric typewriter, Courier™ has truly stood the test of time. Installed on nearly every computer in the world, Courier™ is also one of the most used typefaces in history. The 12 pitch mono Kettler type family pays tribute to the simplicity of Howard Kettler’s monospaced classic by revisiting the smooth letter fit and efficiency of form."
I'm a type stickler and i scanned hundreds of faces before arriving with these choices. I appreciate your interest in the thought that went behind this logo's creation. I couldn't have asked for anything more.
Thanks for the crits to everyone else. I must appologize for the sake of teh drama™ that this didn't go worse.
