deceptive marketing practices

Has anyone else noticed a rise in deceptive marketing? it seems to be getting out of hand. I was just at the gas station and cashed in my points for free gas, and got $15 for 30000 ($3000) points, when last time i did it, i got $20 for 25000 points. I know this is a small stupid thing, but its so frustrating when companies advertise something, like a point reward system, and then change the rewards after you've become a loyal customer to them. Whats the point in customer loyalty when the company just ends up screwing over their loyal customers. another example is recent car commercials that have been advertising that 'approved employees can get a lease at $XX' where as the general public goes in to get the car and finds out its more for them to lease it than advertised. whats the point of giving a price when it applies to such a small portion of the market. i know its to get people into the stores but if i went in and they told me its $100 more to get something then advertised it'd tell them to shove it.

yeah, they all do it, i guess its a good application of caveat emptor (buyer beware, i think one of the few things i learned at school) but its frustrating at alot of companies have started doing this, and its become accepted. It sucks for the employees of the company too because while some high paid exec is at head office making all these decisions, they're on the front lines getting bitched at by people like me because their marketing policies are bullshit.
