to be safer we can just go around telling each other we have guns like during the cold war and like what saddam was doing for the last ten years

Toe knee, Im with you..
all it took for you to solve that situation was to said, Im calling the cops, and maybe say that you had a gun. hey, I have been robbed before, by a kid that told me he had a gun, I never saw it, but I didnt want to find out. so I gave him my money.
What happens if you actually shoot that guy, hit him in his shoulder, now he is pissed of, takes 3 shots through the door, one goes to you, one to your roomate and one to his grandma? No offense in this, but do think that solved the problem? yeah, you got his arm!
You are right, different people think in different ways man, but this I dont understand.
I do know that we wont agree, this is pointless, you have your opinion and I have mine, Im just trying to understand yours.. thats allpeace!

fear is a funny thing...
there was a really famous case in the UK where a farmer in a remote area kept getting burgled so on the 5 time he shot a 16 year old in the back as he was running away, I guess he was just at the end of his tether.
I dunno all this I got a big fuckin weapon to protect me seems a bit odd. Like India and Pakistan having nukes, like the higest common denominator cancels each other out.
Hasnt the US just legalised the right to have Uzis and the like..?
I think dressing up protecting yourself as your right is a bit wrong. Im all for protecting your home but carrying in carparks?public? na
As an aside I really liked the Duke of Edinburghs opinion on gun crime...one of his better ones
If a man killed someone with a cricket bat would you ban cricket?
what a legend

last week a cop was shot dead here in the netherlands, at his funeral, yesterday, hundreds and hundreds of cops from cities in both the Netherlands and Germany were present to pay their respect.
And there was strong media coverage.
And despite the fact that the US is a whole lot bigger, you don't give me the impression that a cop shot dead is that abnormal as it is here.
guns are highly illegal here. unless you have a special permit (pretty rare) you can only have a few simple guns meant for sports/hunting.
how can anyone feel safer is everyone is walking around with guns??

I wish they would ban cricket.

btw. the guy that shot the officer was a german drugsdealer.

--------------------------ha ha, I know exactly what you meant. It was an interesting turn of phrase that is all. I was commending your dutchness, or something.

are you on crack? You just said that maybe I should have told him I was calling the cops and maybe just told him that I had a gun...but I was wrong for what I did do? maybe you should reread what I did do...because I did exactly what you just suggested.
What makes you think I would shoot through a door at a human being? For all I know that guy could have been having a heart attack, a diabetic reaction or had been hit by a car...that's why I talked to him calmly to find out if he needed help...when he became irate and insisted that I let him into my home I made him aware that he was not welcome.
I would give a robber my wallet, my car or the new shirt I just bought if he said he had a gun, even if I had mine. It isn't worth killing someone over anything except the life of myself or a loved one...
I am no different then you except I choose to take a stand if someone enters my home.
- toe-knee0
i think he meant tell him you have a gone even thought you dont, trick the drunk fucker

no I believe that uzis are very illegal here, I think all automatic weapons are very illegal and carry large prison sentences.
Dutch it might surprise you that we too are very serious about our cops being shot. It doesnt happen nearly as much as you might expect it to. I'm not being sarcastic or anything but there was a story just a while ago in LA where a cop was killed via gunfire and there was a lot of media on it.

Tony, did you ever hear about the character in dublin called Bang Bang who used to jump on the buses and pretend to shoot people with his finger?
:)
i have to go to bed.........................
- toe-knee0
Didnt see him, but there was a guy in malahide called Johnny Beep Beep. He was convinced his bike was a car. He even went to the petrol station and doused it in petrol once. Bike has car mirros and everything. Bless his cotton socks
- iDp0
whats the difference? Telling him I have one or actually having one. I have one just incase he decides to call my bluff...better to have than to have not. When you go to the mountain should you take matches just incase you get stuck up there? I do. I see this as the same sort of thing. I'm not sitting at home fearing that someone might come through my door, nor am I sitting there waiting to shoot some guy.

Bang Bang was arou

I understand your predicament, but i guess my point is that if there were no guns there would be no need to have one. can you see my point? But i can imagine that the gun problem in the US is a mountain, but you gotta start somewhere
