My friend just aked me to look up the number for PETA and similar organizations for him as a cop in the hick town he lives shot his dog. It seems the dog escaped and bit a mailman who had maced it before. The cop came and it bared its teeth so it shot it through the chest. The dogs actually still alive as it didn't hit the vital organs but will be at the vet for 9 more days.

i use to put dogs in a catapult and shoot them like skeet.

It's a mix that he got from a pound as a puppy. I can't even guess what is is. Some kind of multi-colored long haired retriever shepherd type mix.

see if the cop wasn't such a fucking pussy he could have dealt with the dog, called a dogpound dude or whatever, RSPCA or something.. the dog would never have been shot in the UK because your average copper doesn't have a gun. Its all too easy to pull the trigger.
Maybe the dog is a bit lairy though huh? Coulda been a kid next time.
The moral of this story is: Give your kids high powered handguns for xmas.

The dog is generally nice, intelligent and well behaved. Pretty weird if your dog starts getting insane on people as soon as it gets out though.
BTW, this is a real hick town. It probably made the cops day to be able to shoot his gun for the first time in his career. This same guy drives around in his Impala with these terminator glasses on staring at everyone like they're guilty of something handing out ridiculous $5 parking tickets.
Just seeing this guy in his car would lower your opinion of the police.

doesn't matter how nice the dog is normally, once ANY animal attacks a human 99% of the time it will be put down. especially if the dog was showing signs of continued aggression towards people. perhaps your friend should've not let their dog get into a situation to attack the mailman?

Did you hear about the North Carolina family vacationing in Tennessee last summer? On their way back home and the dad must have left his wallet on top of car because bills fly out onto interstate prompting some idiot traveller to assume BANK ROBBER...she calls police and they pull the car over; make the family (with two kids) all get down on ground with hands behind head. One of the family tells the police to shut the door so the dog won't get out. Dog comes out of the car, wagging its tail and the cop shoots it.
