i went for the 1st time a few months ago for a mates stag holiday.
we were staying in the red light district (surprise!) and made our "base" at the Red Light Bar thats on one of the canalsides.
Its a really decent bar that never gets TOO busy. Under the bar is a coffee shop where you can buy erm goodies. In the actual bar theres a nice big bar to sit at/around, pool tables, table football and a good few huge tv screens. Upstairs is a balcony where you can go and chill and watch everyone below (or get a better view of the screens).
Toilets are pretty good too! - this is a PLUS feature by the way as most of the toilets you come across in bars are "literally" shit-holes (holes in the ground you piss or shit into).have a good time.
remember, dont photo the ladies of the night.

yeah stroopwafels i do miss! as well as a decent broodje haring. dunno though, amsterdam is so freakin' expensive and i so dislike amsterdam after having lived there for 15 years or so. main reason i left. amsterdam is sooo small as well. if i'm going back to holland it prolly will be to rotterdam. big if though.

Soap Gallery is really great.
The Atlantic coast is really great.
Haarlem is really great.
There is a exhibition of ‘Contemporary Graphic Design’ at the Stedelijk Museum CS, from September 3 through November 7, 2004 should be really great.
And the Huis Marseille
Foundation for Photography is always awsome. I believe Luc Delahaye's exhibit just finished there...was really great.
