I can't believe I haven't heard of this program before.
So NT public does it really work?
Is it easy?
Does it work well on OSX?
And is it worth getting for someone who deals a lot in vector graphics?
And if not, are there alternatives?

Thanks yo

Its cool, use it quite a lot... you have to run classic, but its worth it. :)

streamline is for windows and macos classic. i've been using panopticum vectorizer with illustrator lately and also the flash trace function is neat.

You can do what streamline does directly in Photshop. And thats why they discontinued that good-for-nothing software.

what about:
flash
freehand
corel trace

Hey your the dude I emailed a couple months ago. Thanks for the no reply.

I wonder why Adobe didn't just incorporate what Streamline can do into the new Illustrator....
I guess that would probably make too much sense.

i just emailed you.

this is just my opinion but the auto trace tool in illustrator is
arse. am i wrong?

Try Corel Trace, it's way much better than Streamline.
- tough-actin0
corel trace is it smoother?
easier?
don't think of as a prick.
but could you be a tad bit more discriptive..thanks all for your info so far

photoshop only converts your image in raster... i guess you could create paths from that, but that could take forever in some cases...
is corel trace easy to find a demo version or anything? i'd like to check it out since i can't find any how-to or documentation on streamline - it's still kind of a shot in the dark to work with.

I use Streamline running WinXP. It's a handy program, but not teriffic. Depending on the effect I want, I will use Streamline, Illustrator or Photoshop to create vector images. I like having the tools at my disposal.
I can only recommend experimenting with all to learn the advantages and weaknesses of each.
