The law was a purely political piece of bullshit from the Clinton Era that did nothing to deter the selling of assault weapons in the US. If the freakin law isn't doing any good, why have it in place?
And honestly - Bush is to blame for a 10 year ban on assault weapons lapsing? When did the President assume Congressional powers? How about bitching about your Congress Representatives & Senators first. What a load.

actually I saw a special on this, there are guns that have the same potentcy that weren't banned and then become banned and vice versa, it's all BS those regulations. Militias are gonna' be happy in Montana.

It's a strange issue, because if you buy an AK, you have to register to get it and background check. I'd like to see stats on violent crime being perpetrated with registered guns.

Actually, speaking of the AK-47, that is one heavily used piece of artillery all over the world. Quite effecient in many respects, even more so than the M-16. A Russian masterpiece if used correctly.
