I appreciate the help. are either of you experienced in t-shirt making?

experienced how?

printing on tees is tougher than on paper, after you print it , the inks gotta cure.

Yeah I have done shirts before. If you want to have someone do shirts. I have used these guys:
http://www.mammothprintshop.com
It is hard to do shirts yourself unless you are only doing a couple.

i dont understand why anyone would want to have shirts made over the net. open the yellow pages, and look under screen printers, go visit some, get a feel for the people, and their work before you decide. screen printing is an art (unless you're doing a huge scale project and using automated machines) and its important to have a good artist working on your prints, otherwise you may not be happy, and the prints may not last... it pays to get off your ass and go outside to find good printers in your area, and you'll save on shipping too.

cool, right now i think its gonna be either studioxix, dieselfuels prints or the patent pending.

Well just to let you know function82...I have gotten off my ass and I have visited quite a few print spots in my area (Chicago)...and I wasnt blown away by the stuff that they do. Im doing whats called "comparison pricing." And this is an extremly large job 3000pcs., thats why Im asking....this isnt a lazy thing...its a penny squeezing thing.

3000 piece, you should go automated press, such as http://www.incredibleclothing.co… (toronto based) you'll get less defects (making 3000 shirts by hand, you're going to get about 10% with quality defects, ie. alignment is off) and you'll probably save alot of money becaue its less labour for the shop, making 3000 shirts by hand would take you quite some time on a 4 colour press with 6 stations, like a small shop might have
- function820
one more thing, a shop like xix probably wouldnt be able to handle a job that big, it looks like they handle small orders (pricing on the site for up to 299 shirts, rest is quote only) and their pricing isn't discounted as much as you would want for a bulk order like 3000.
i'm not trying to mock you or be an ass or anything, just want to make sure you know what you're getting into with this... its a huge investment, and you need to really research before you jump, i've made the mistake in the past, spent 1500 and ended up with shirts that couldnt be sold because the printer didnt cure the inks at the right temp, so its really important to make sure your printer is competant and able to handle the scale of the job

yeah...3000 pieces is a big load. And I just design, I have never had to deal with the whole printing process b4. I wasnt even familiar with automated press....you just gave me something else to look for...and I appreciate it.
