i've got a 800mhz g4 quicksilver mac with 256mb ram...
i was thinking of buying an imac but my budget is limited... should i just go for buyin a new imac or just upgrade my quicksilver to 1.5gb ram to save me tons of pennies?cheers dudes

well for starters i wouldn't buy the new imac yet because as always the initial price is too steep to draw in the suckers who have the urge to own the latest shit. a G4 800 is still very ok. just slam in more ram. you can also update the cpu to a 1.2 Ghz machine for around 300 euros.

we do all of our design on 733 MHz macs and have no problem. but you need ram.

for the ram, the cheapest and reliable is from crucial ior should i go for apple's ram?
