Can anyone recommend a good audio recorder/sequencers for OSX? I was using protools free back on OS9, which was perfect for what I needed, which was laying down a few guitar tracks, but as there is no OSX version, and my ol' G3 can't handle Garageband, I'm sorta stuck for options. If anyone drop a few names it would be much appreciated.

hmm ive been using:
logic 6 (this is the shit)
Ableton Live (also very cool)
Reason
garagebandosX
but if your G3 is struggling with Garageband these are prob no use to you either, might have to look at stepping up your machine
also there are lots of threads in the PVn about this, if you have a search
JazX will be able to help u out also :)

OSX is a mach?... if yes the best tool is Logic audio Platinum... has been recently "aquired" (what is it´s spelling) by machintos so they have focused this software to mach users

Cool, thanks man. Yeah, Its def time for an upgrade, and those new imacs are lookin' mighty fine :)
- blackspade0
yea, im tempted by the nu imacs too, i have an older g4 tower and it is ok but still a bit slow annoying with these audio programs
Logic is expensive as fuck tho :( ..the latest version is amaZing

Yeah, I think logic is a bit out of my price range... have you tried Intuem?
http://www.intuem.com/main.html
I might grab the demo and give it play.. says it will work on a G3 as well.

if u get a chance check out ableton live
I run my Fender electric thru this program, add some reverb, delay's etc to it, & it sounds so good, like an expensive amplifier.
also check out AmpliTube Live for running your gat thru, sounds farkin good
- blackspade0
hmm no havent tried Intuem
looks similar to garageband ?

Just looking at the ableton site, live looks like the go. Very nice indeed. Thanks blackspade!

unless you work in a recording studio, you don´t need to buy the software (do you know emule) i know it´s out of the law, but when u are without money.. it´s very usefull...and the most of people who record professional music buy the software after been workin' whit it after years...
- blackspade0
couenmain,
most definately man
im yet to pay for any Audio softwareableton live is easy to crack
*oops did i say that out loud*
Logic on the other hand has a XSkey (usb) that has to be plugged in to use the program, so im gonna have to fork out for that one

nice photos on your site couenmain!
what kinda camera you use?, they have a lovely vintage feel to them
- blackspade0
no worries aka
once you get your head around it, its easy to use, and you can use plugins etc with it
very cool

some of the pics are made with a polaroid (whit that yellow light), other with a lomo camera, and with a cheap kodak... but the most important is the magic light from L.A.; N.Y. and Barcelona
- couenmain0
and sorry for my crappy english
- blackspade0
"the magic light from L.A.; N.Y. and Barcelona"
..ahaa the secret ingredient ;)
very nice
- couenmain0
yeah...here in my city the sky is always full of clouds and is a very rainy weather....
- blackspade0
sounds like my city! (bottom of the world, Dunedin, south island, NZ)
- blackspade0
also Aka
if you have a look around on your favourate p2p program
its quite easy to trick Ableton Live into making the demo run forever
- couenmain0
how do you use ableton live, i´ve been working with it a little but for my is a little "boring?" when you need to fit the samples... do you know Sonic foundry "Acid"?...
- blackspade0
umm Acid is a PC only ?
no havent played with it, i know it is popular
i just use ableton for recording my guitar, mic, I hav samples activated by MIDI thru Ableton
i think if you have other plugins, it becomes less 'boring'
