The only 'real' Lomo camera is the LC-A
- kingjulien0
hey kemp, your photographs are amazing. as is the overall project. my ex is into lomography big time, and i just sent the link to her...
well done...
- kingjulien0
actually let me clarify,, the different photographer's work is amazing, but i like how you wove it all together...

Gerbert - while im not 100% on how it is done, cross processing is basically making prints out of a positive (slide) film instead of slides.
- superbaka0
cross processing is when you process film in a bath intended for a different film stock. usually, its mixing C41/E6. (print/slide).
honestly, someone who has a good understanding of digital color timing can reproduce the results.

clint: 1) aaargh!!! :) 2) look, you said lomo holga and not lomography holga. totally different thing.
- clint0
you bloody lomo fascist!
my holga is as good as any of those lomography camera!
; )
- ********0
you can x-pro in the other direction also.
you'll have to find a willing developer in any case - it ruins the bath...
- rabattski0
lmao! :) woo yay! i'm a lomo fascist! :)

Where should one look in london to find a cheap lomo lca? ebay?? what is a reasonable price for one?
- rabattski0
there's a lomography store in london. now the price they ask is way too high imo. you've better chance by getting it thru e-bay or buying it second hand from someone.
- rabattski0
just checked for ya. on ebay you can buy it right now for 65 pounds (lomography price is around 140 pounds) so that'll save you money.
- -_MU_-0
Yeah, I just looked on eBay, there seemed to be some reasonably priced units there.
Rabattski, i understand the distinction between Lomo and the cameras labelled 'lomographic' but are not made by lomo. Do you feel there is a difference in the effect you get,
i.e.
is it worth shelling out for an LC-A or can you get a similar effect from other old russian cameras?
- agentfour0
cheers!
- rabattski0
good question. regarding lo-tech cameras i only have the lc-a. so i don't know about the others or have any reference for comparing. i would say that each camera has it's own characteristics and thus making each camera individual. i guess you should browse the sites posted in this thread to compare it for yourself (some are holga, others lomo etc.)
btw i just remembered what i paid for the lc-a 6/7 years ago. that was around 75 euro. now it's 200! too much though.
- clint0
i'd say as well, all off those cameras have different characteristics. they are seriously overpriced though. At the end of the day, those are just trashy old plastic cameras.
you could pick up any other dated cheap ussr camera and get similar results.
the lomography people have been great at creating some photography lyfestyle phenomena that goes against the clean digital age.
- ozhanlion0
don't speak like about my lomo
:sigh::)
- clint0
i think they are great cameras, just a bit of a rip off really...
