I live in Los Angeles and but would love to use a european plate http://www.licenseplates.tv/inde… would it be legal? Does anyone know how this can be done legaly? I just like the shape better than the ones we have here in the U.S.

http://www.licenseplates.tv/prod… would be great!

you can use that on the front side of the car i suppose. provided CA does not have that two plate law.
- Captain0
why on earth do we have these dumb shapes for plates here? the european plates make the car look wider and better. I wish they would change it.

this one gets close enough to the US ones though:
http://www.licenseplates.tv/prod…
and btw.
here in the Netherlands there's been made an exception for classic cars AND American cars (and the likes) to use different and/or smaller plates that fit the space available for it! While everyone else has to strictly obey the new guidelines for license plates.Good to see there's been made an exception for esthetic reasons.. kinda odd innit?

i like the uk plates best.. minimalistic, no borders, no symbols or whatsoever..

the -obligatory- EU-flag section ruins it for most plates though.

hey captain, i clicked your website in your profile http://www.nositeyet.com/
i was looking at this awesome Flash intro and then i thought.. aaaaaawwwkaaayyy!?!
but then i figured you just typed 'no site yet dot com' for the heck of it.. not knowing where it leads to hehe.
blahblah
i talk nonsense again__
ok.. i'm off to bed now.

nooooo... UK plates look clumsy and like someone found a piece of plain plastic and painted it themselves at home... and yellow! (horrible on red cars)
- DutchBoy0
yes.. but ours are yellow as well.. and we have this obligated number/letter system.. bah.. ugly.
whereas in the UK if you have the sterlings for it, you can 'buy' (true innit?) quite nice letter/number combinations.
as in:
NT 1
or something..
but i could be wrong though.

Every second VW here in Nova Scotia has a German plate on the front. It drives me nuts...

UK plate auctions...

HA! I had just typed that URL in ductchboy. I like that UK plate as well. http://www.licenseplates.tv/inde… the black plates for California are the closest to the word "nice" the U.S. has.

I KD - 80,000.00 (VAT)
wtf?? who wants to pay 80,000 pounds for a frigging license plate??

Not for the Netherlands I don't think that is odd. You all seem to have that concern up front, no? They value the arts their more I always thought.
- DutchBoy0
wanna trade, Captain?
http://www.licenseplates.tv/prod…
i'd love a license plate with a sundawn on it! :)

don't make me start! hehe
no really.. it's been on my mind the last few days. why it is that people think our 'design' is so great and all. since i saw this book: http://www.phaidon.com/phaidon/2… .. which made me think, is this true? why do people think that? i mean, it's also been said about our urban planning, but then Koolhaas keeps bragging about how messy it is and all..and my personal thought (which i share with many!) is that there's a LOT of h-o-r-r-i-b-l-e tasteless architecture here ... it's all relative anyway..
i could be talking for hours on this subject though.. :/
maybe i'll start a thread on it soon.. it deserves a solid debate, me thinks.

I've got a ton of these temp import plates with a variety of origins. (The first two / three letters)
http://www.licenseplates.tv/prod…It's great when you park badly and you just swap yours for foreign ones so you don't get a ticket >:)
- jox0
Yeah it's really stupid that you have different-shaped plates. What's even more strange is that you have to re-build every car to make it fit, and the US of A is still the cheapest country in the world to buy a car in. : /
