I'm a programmer.
When I spend 2 hours combing 1000 lines of code for a semicolon, I like to listen to Mozart. Its all that keeps me from going mad.
Mad I say! Mad! @ < @

anything not electronic. Nothing more annoying to me than some freakin drumbeat repeating itself 5,000 times.
If I wanted to listen to this crap I just surf the web and click on flash sites or watch car commericals.

I think you just haven't heard the right electronic music.

didn't dig into warp records- didn't need to after hearing 3 minutes- 3 EXACTLY the same minutes of the default web track- boom bop boom bop spit boom bop- sample- annoying machine sound- forever and ever...
whoa spacey man...

okay I am being cocky- I simply think that electronic music is predictable and boring and usually completely annoying-You do not think these things... life moves on.

normally, i hear downtempo when workin... things as "blue note revisited" or music from compost music and similar... and my own music too

I have only 2 semi-constant listening habits. Jungle on mondays and dub on fridays.

depends on the project for me. usually things with aggressive drumbeats... or strong vocals.
circle takes the square, taking back sunday, green day, thursday, nirvana, the thermals, blood brothers... any good punk rock record really.

it really depends on the work involved...if i have to use my brain i need background music like ltj bukem (good music for conentrating and being alert) i guess its called "intelligent d&b" or whatever, but it just sounds like really clean and subltle drums n bass
i listen to the dusty fingers compilations
and jazz
and if i just wanna design happy hippie stuff, nothing but old skool reggae/ska/dub
