that logo is simply sad.
the site's menu reminds me of movkup.com, except movkup is the real thing ( it's been there for a looong time ). don't like it either. Does not "sound" like mtv at all.

I think the site design is consistent w/ MTV in general. Gaudy and unbearable. They target a young audience with a very short attention span. I work on a site that targets the same audience and hate it. The site was clean to begin w/ but due to reviews by teens more and more requests have been made to completely fill the page. To hell with design they just want content.

I think this site is a great representation of the demographic and the content currently running on their cable channel. I don't like either, but to call it a disaster is naive. Do you honestly think the brand managers for each department involved that were surely fighting for realesate and relevant feature sets between each other were really concerned what people of the ntb or pvn thought of their decisions? Sit down and watch MTV for an hour, then go back to the site. It fits, it works, it's mtv.

I use to be a big fan of Peeps.com website somewhere in 2000. Now not even the website exists.
I know there's a reason to revamp a site. But I don't quite feel about this new one..

The site is a bit large in it's assets it comes in at a whopping 234k for everything. That's an absolutely huge front page and not very friendly to our non-broadband users. Check out the speedreport here:
