There are people/businesses/groups I would refuse to work with.
Done it in the past.
Especially If you're not responsible for the well being of another [wife, children] u must have a sense of integrity and being true to your values. One is the result of a certain life's background, path and relations.
And it's not a choice of a certain elite. I've seen examples of those that have few denying an opportunity for a better life when their values are in risk.
You might think different, because you're different. It's something I would understand but not necessarily respect.

bluejam, I don't see the contradiction between being a designer and being true to your values. there are plenty of socially responsible roles for designers that require our problem solving and visual communication skills.

i have expressed a wish to not work on tobbacco projects too much, but I think I'll be moral when I'm rich and famous enough to get away with it.

Have been reading and not wanting to post too much... but I do want to pose a question/idea/whatever.
If evolution is true, that you come from a meaningless random chance, that you're simply a random makeup of cells that just happened to exist, then what are the consequences of having morals? surely they shouldn't exist. it goes against atheistic-evolution to have morals. so screw'em morals are meaningless unless there is something else.
so given that...what's the point of morals/ethics/standards? unless there is something else - not much.

morality is culture defined, not divinity defined...
concerning evolution. If God is all-powerful, who's to say he didn't start the chain of evolution and we are the end result...or maybe just a stop along the way.
