i know he just wanted a handout or something.. but still.. if i were homeless i wouldn't bother people doing their thing.. i'd do something about it..

One time, I got called darkie at work by the team lead. Then on another occasion another guy tells me he thinks blacks are cool if they stick to the stuff they are superior at, like sports. And that he doesn't see anything wrong with being borderline racist, "I still like some people." He also refuses to shake my hand...cause the color might not wash off.
True story.
No use gettin' mad. In the end, those bitches will get theirs.

honda...that sort of shit is disgraceful.
why hasn't the guy been fired? and why the hell is he a leader... will get whats coming to him. sooner the better imo

sorry to hear of the stupidity around you.

Racism never ceased to exist
Black people in america got some weight pulled off them since 9/11. Now they're after the arabs.

that's crazy shit blackspade.
yeah, my job sucks. well, i resigned on thursday. tired of the bs. plus, i got another gig doing what i like in the same industry AND with my company's competitor no less. =]
people like this will always exist. the times don't change anything. as long as there are people on the planet and each with his/her differences, there will always be prejudices.
most people have gotten more 'professional' with their bias'. however, every now-and-then the neanderthal in them shows itself and they are revealed for who they really are: idiots.

Albeit, it was lifted for a short time...

The homeless are three groups of people: Addicts who did it to themselves, Schizos who are neglected by the govt. and the downtrodden, of whom 80% get back on their feet.
And on that racism tip? Anybody who is a racist is a cracka ass cracka!
- slag_you_off0
the racism thing is shitty, but the original post was rather naieve...
'if you were homeless...' you're not, you dont know what it is like to be homeless i'm guessing, so you dont know what you would do.
cut some slack.

Honda you are right - I am a firm believer in Karma - what goes around comes around dude. You know who will get theirs dealt to them someday, and when it happens, it's their own stupid fault.
- g3kk0k1d0
dude there are more groups of homeless people - 75% of homeless in london are former miltary forces who did not get support or care from us all -facto mundo
i dont think any of us should direct our angry feelings towards easy targets such as the homeless or french people

My sister lived on the streets for a year in cali. Squattin in different crack houses here and there.
granted, she didn't do any drugs, for her it was for the experience. to see what life was like at the lowest point...for those that society abondoned. she would read poetry to them and write about them in her journal and shit.
she's hella smart. recently graduated cum laude from alamosa state uni.
she's movin out here to live with me and look for work as a journalist or somethin.

I did a story on local homeless in Indianapolis, and that's what the numbers broke down to. A colleague just did a story on a man with a master's degree who got homeless due to alcoholism, but he's clean and now works at the mission. It isn't impossible for people to come up out of homelessness. A lot of the veterans who are homeless here either lost jobs or got drunk. Every place is different.

What a lot of people don't want to believe is that a percentage of homelessness is due to laziness. In Santa Monica, California, where I used to work, there was a program where a homeless person could be fed 3 meals a day and have a place to sleep if they would do small chores around this development to keep it up. A large number of the homeless refused to do the work, turning down a free 3 meals a day and a place to sleep. I've heard of other occasions where people have offered work to homeless people with the "Will work for food" signs, only for the homeless person to mumble something and walk away. Not all homelessness is involuntary.

fuckin philistines
just the sort of attitude that keeps people homeless...
ever heard of mental illness, or is that just another word for sitting around on your arse all day getting drunk?
- abstrakt0
ummm, i said a PERCENTAGE of homelessness is due to laziness. do you understand the word percentage doesn't mean ALL?
- abstrakt0
unless, of course, i'm talking about 100+ percent, which i'm obviously not

"What a lot of people don't want to believe is that a percentage of homelessness is due to laziness"
I dunno but that seems to say to me that you think some people are homeless because they are lazy. I think that is wrong...
not as simple as that. The attitude "why dont they just help themselves, everything is there for them to do so' is a really smal minded conservative thing to say.
I volunteered in a soup kitchen back in London, and I can assure you that these people weren't lazy.
