yeah for sure, not for a coupla years tho, what did you hear about them?
actually last summer I was on a lunch break and some dude with a camera was like "can I take a pic of your trainers?" and sure enough he was working for WGSN, thing is, I was curious, it turned out that they weren't even paying the poor guy... pure bloodsuckers :/

a good example of this is that site posted a while back with photos boring city scences, but all text had been removed from the photos
then the text taken from the photos was put on a white background, very intersting
anyone remember the link!?

rask,
that blows! i am always amused by trend watchers and setters. i find them informative but very scary as well.but its interesting how designers have to keep up with the game...or do we?
i agree with others (esp blackspade) about being always observant.
this whole culture of 40 yr old men selling 12 yr old girls fantasy, mostly CREATED by the men has to end.
another weird job that gets paid mad money is of the "colourist"....someone who basically predicts the in colors for every season...

Riz ,
i would love to see the project you did!!i was partof a group and we pitched a branding overhaul of our university museum of art
we had this super cool idea of constructiing a free art wall... basically a massive white structure and letting people create......needless to say it show down....they did not wantpeople posting adverts on it.

yeah zed its a mad old thing, I dont really get it myself, it just seems that the majority of kids today are quiet happy to be 'fed' ideas and clothes rather than do shit themselves.. who knows... I think more than anything its about (and this sounds cheesy) doing stuff you're into and staying true to that, if you love it, stuff will come to you. I think thats true.

amen rask!
the lack of apathy is astounding.
read the article in the trendwatching newsletter about curated consumption...i mean fcuking hell whats next some guy telling if i should find my boxers comfortable or not?
- zedvox0
i started college with intentions of going into advertising but half way through i was simply disgusted....and did the design/fine art thing..but i find myself wanting to go back into advertising and commerical design witha firm believe that you can create somethign good, holistic, contem.forwards (insert keyword here) without dumbing down the consumer.
give them somethign challenging...something fun that makes em think.
something honest, perhaps ;)

Oh that sucks rasko. Im surprise they dont pay well. They make a shitload.. They flew a lady over here and drove her over our office in a fucking limosine just to show us how to navigate the site..
- RIZ0
Hey Zedvox, I tell ya what, when i get my website up and running I'm gonna post a fairly in-depth description of the project we were talking about. I'll be sure to send you the link when it's done.
