MX 04 slow on Mac

The program runs really slow on my G4. It has a 3-5 second lag after everything I touch. It's one of the old low MHZ G4s BTW. Does it work OK on the faster G4s?
I think it's time to get a G5.

All of them work ok, but download the updates if you haven't...
And turn off the start screen, that will save you some time...

Oh sorry I meant Flash MX 2004. I just downloaded the demo so I'm not sure if it's necessary to download the updates.
I tried DW 04 before the patches came out and it ran terrible on my machine and everyone elses with OSX from the reviews I read . Anyone know if the patches have improved the performance?

Flash MX 04 runs fine on my G4. i haven't tried DW tho...

memory is key- lots of it...
or you could go to Walmart and get a PC and a cheap case of soda... maybe your grandmother will let you use hers.

Ran like shit on my old G4 300mhz but it's great on my shiny new G5 dual 2ghz. The G4 had 1.5gb of ram but it was still shit, time for a new Mac.

I just shut it off. I can't believe what a difference it makes to the overall performance. It started working faster immediately.

i havent read any responsese, but...
MX is just a piece of shit on macs, i dont know wtf. we have G5s at work and Fireworks is SO SLOW... lagging just like you described...

Word! My PC RoXXor teh flash, my G3 shudders in terror (well, it would if I could get it above OS 9.0 anyway!) I think Macromedia need to seriously sort out their development piorities. Patching software after release? Anyone would think they are becoming a games maufacurer or M$

Tell more about "Shutting off the start screen". Is this for Flash?
