I think I had that years ago...like in flash 4...once..and that was casue there were too many frames.
I've never used scenes as they are naff, so I have no idea about anything to do with them.

Flash movies can't have more than 16000 frames.
this link has some info about flash movie size:

flash is pissing me off too today ASGW#I$TEGRJR@#$%@#$
can anyone at all tell me WTF is wrong with my button actions here? they SHOULD be working, i dont get it.

16,000 and under ONLY
- JazX0
you want a solution?
put the following info to combine two movies together, we had to do the same here:
stop();
_level0.holder1_mc.loadMovie("mo... 0);stop();
//_level0.holder2_mc.loadMovie... 0);
_level0.holder2_mc.loadMovie("mo... 0);
_global.scene24 == true;
- JazX0
so basically you have one file that is bringing in two other files, I'm on an eLearning module that is exactly 31,875 frames long. But it's less than 32,000, so I am AOK.

flash sucks on the mac... everybody knows that. And if you don't... get a clue!!!
... yes, even the G5's. I've been on both sides of the fence so lets not turn this into a mac vs pc topic.
I can always build you a crappy PC in which you will take that impression of PC's sucking till you die... Get a GOOD PC and you will be worry free. ;)
- slappy0
haha fished in dude...

mac flash 0 pc flash 0
dont get me started on video

jazx: any idea what i did wrong though? ive tried 45 different ways of writing the same thing. every variation of this that i can think of! with and without using telltarget etc!!!
on (release) {
tellTarget(_root) {
gotoAndPlay("scene",1);
}
}ill be your bestttt friennndddd
- kerus0
the ever elusive extra _root strikes! oh well, i suck
- myobie0
kerus, i looked in your flash file...
why are the pre1 and the 1 on different layers?
you can disabled the buttons instead of fading in the graphics, and renable them later...
also, you may want to consider naming the buttons, and then using an actionscript in first frame of the timeline like:
myBtn2_btn.onRelease = function() {
trace( "you clicked : " + this._name );
};to do this however, you need to have your button in every frame on it's layer (so when you don't want to use it, disable it and set _alpha=0, but it has to be there and has to always have the same name...)
i know you can do it another way, but this is the failproof way...
- JazX0
it also seems as if you are not telling the right button to go to 2 and then also 3, huh?
- slappy0
thats mate, youv made my afternoon... seriously
