- aliendn0
um i think it was "glory box", the one that goes "how to beee a woman", and the tricky song was "hell's around the corner"
- mike_g0
Yeah Greedo, and sorry it's Dusty Fingers, not Grooves.
- GreedoLives0
mike_g, got a link for that?
- GreedoLives0
you mean 'sour times'? that's got some mission impossible samples on it, lalo schifrin...
if that's what you mean.

I've got 8 records from the Dusty Grooves series and they have the best shit on them. Lot's of the classic but obscure samples. They also put out a 2 record comp for just the samples that De la Soul has used. I highly recommend to all who dig this shit.

hmmm that is pretty weak, but i guess it's all about the hype in the music biz these days anyways.
and if he can get $7000 a show, shit, good for him.but yeah, inventor of turntablism and best dj out there and all that...pretty rich.
- rasko40
why do you ask James, out of interest?
- mike_g0
Oh and his booking fee is like $7000 USD!!!

No Greedo, no war stories, but I saw him in this Rocksteady video like 5 years ago (maybe longer) and he was going on and on about how he was like the best DJ in the world and how he started the whole Turntablism genre. At that point, I don't even think that future primitive CD with him and Radar on it, was out yet. Which was like his first big bout of exposure, so I just thought it was pretty wack. And the turntablism comment blew my mind, considering he isn't a very technical scratch dj, or even that good at scratching. Not that the genre is totally about scratching, but it's a pretty integral component.

really, z-trip's a dick? i've seen him a couple of times live and he seemed cool enough...but it's not like i tried to hang with him or anything.

yeah, that's true, but coming from cincinnati, you gotta represent that stuff. cincy was one of the biggest edge scenes... huge rivalry between indy, cincy, dayton and louisville. i like it, it takes the bullshit out of hip hop.
