Im taking a macromedia approved flash training course, should I bother also taking the certification exam, to become a Macromedia Certified Designer? Does anyoe care about the certification process anymore?

if you can back it up with your skills who cares about certification... except maybe a large employer - clients probably wouldn't care less.

I think that portfolio is #1, personality/people skills is #2. Certification is kind of like that "activities/interests" section on a resume. It's just kind of there. Not very important, I don't think. I'm talking from a design/front end perspective. However, if you're already taking the course, what the hell.
I'm quite sure that didn't help.

Shotgun I agree, it's like... sure no one really cares, but I'm taking the class, the certification is only like $200 more, so why not, but then again $200 is $200, and rich, I'm not.

i took a similar class 5 years ago and it was a TOTAL waste of time.
if you have half a brain and can learn applications intuitively, or can sit for 10 minutes with someone who can give you some basics, then there's not need for it.
d/l some tutorials and do it yourself...save the $$.

for only $100 dollars i got a certifcate here that will probably carry the same weight!its written on my used snot rag but it'll do the same thing.
just send me the cash and Ill send it on and throw in a frame for free.
