I'll hope you'll get the job, I'm searching to at the moment butt it's hard to find something.
And probebly you'll don't have the job because we starters don't have any experience.

i feel you redwood!
i am looking for a job as well..just out of college...
which reminds me
ANYONE WANNA HIRE ME? ;)

i think you have some good work in there. just go in with a cool and calm attitude (damn, that sounded cheesey!)
in all honesty, a production designer will get hired on his/her ability to run through key commands and action scripts...not on their design abilities. however, once the foot is in the door.....

it's at trumpet in new orleans. its really fucked up, looking for your first job, this industry is so competitive and for what? very little money, for sure. but i have to do what i have to do, and visual design, you know isn't like working to me so there it is. i just HATE selling myself. it took some balls to post this up here, so thank you for your support everybody!!

well good luck.
i have no luck so far..all emails are sent with no reply....no interview no nothing..
:(

that's fucking sad zed. Where do u live?
- zedvox0
i am in oregon, usa
right now.
yeah its sad.. i am also an international student so i cant freelance legally blah!
- lvl_130
agreed. but hey, i started out as an intern...then designer...then senior designer.....then laid off three years later (go figure) but nevermind that. i seriously have not been out of a job for more than two weeks since that first internship. no kidding. it's pretty fucking crazy thinking back actually. the people you know will support you in one way or another. remember that. designers (at least in my career) help other designers out. my old roomate has got my foot in the door at two different agencies, and a couple of old co-workers have gotten me some steady freelance work/and ultimately some solid contract design work. your friends are more likely than not your greatest connection

i really like your images but i think that hose bottons are way too big, i mean if i was really really old and had no vidsion maybe but your chance of someone that old looking at your site then it fine. i mean it's a good start and you should check out this site it's pretty cool, they post jobs every day and you get to have an agent email you those jobs right when they come out.
good luck and if you haven't seen this site before then check it out.

:) zedvox.
no way. i was looking at your thesis project the other day and thinking "that is some cool shit".
i just now put 2 and 2 together. you can't legally work freelance? haven't had to deal with that personally, but that is messed up. i dig your stuff, it really boggles my mind as to why you can't find a job...well, let me take that back. bush is in office. the economy sucks. and well...what else is there to say besides PLEASE VOTE PEOPLE! I wish you luck zedvox. by the way, what region are you located in? i'm in good ol' midwest.
ps. type slow. i've said it once. i'll say it again. so please forgive me if there are 20 other responses before mine : )

i think you have the skills but your site shows how far you actually are from the real world/jungle of the advertising agencies...it's nobody's fault but they will probably use your own stuff to negotiate your position and your desire to get the job...i hate them already...

will i get a job?
errrrrr.....no!

Motormel, your work is actually good. Do you have printed samples of it to show? If I were you I don't think I would show them the site...thats just my opinion, but the few peices I looked at are definitely worthy of a production job. You obviously know your way around PS...and for production they will look for your actual technical ability, eagerness to learn and whether you have an eye or not...and I think you do. Go in confident is my only suggestion.
At my old job we were hiring a production guy who A) Was sweating his balls off becuase he was so nervous and B) Came in with a facial piercing. So don't do either of those.
