Im from Spain and try to make it down once a year. Hit Barcelona, Valencia and if you can make time for a lil fun hit Ibiza (by ferry!! the disco boat owns!). If you make it down to Barcelona I will fill you in on some hot spots!

This September I am definitely going to Cadaques, an amazing village where Dali and Picasso lived. That's me:

I'm from Gib and have just got back from holiday there... it's oh-so very nice and warm - really making me question why the fuck I'm in London.
Is it webdesign work you're off to do? For bookmakers, by any chance? :)
Gib's an odd place - you must appreciate how small it is! There's 'enough' to do week-on-week, and for the first wee while you'll have lots to do and see. Once that's passed you'll have to rely on Spain - the 'better' bits of the Costa del Sol (shudder) - there are some decent clubs near Marbella - and make sure you get to Granada... that place rocks (scuse the pun).
Whatever you do though - please don't be 'British' when you're there - I spent my entire youth distancing myself from being from the UK. So, learn a little Spanish (or at least give the impression you are..) and just chill - 'Llanitos' (Gibraltarians) generally don't react to uppity Anglo-Saxonites very well.
Basically - it's a very simple life - laid back, there's not a huge amount to do right on your doorstep, but if you can get off your arse it's beautiful.
Oh yeah - make sure you visit Tarifa, and if you've got the munchies in Gib, go to "Gilbert's" near Casemates - practically the world's best goddamned junkfood, inmho.
Let me know how you get on - I'm always interested to see how 'real' people react to the Rock!

PS. Bearing in mind the current political climate, it really is much better to remember that Gibraltar is NOT 'Spain'!! :)
PPS. If you're into it, and can find it, Gib has Europe's best Hash (including Holland..)
