I'm from Gib and have just got back from holiday there... it's oh-so very nice and warm - really making me question why the fuck I'm in London.

Is it webdesign work you're off to do? For bookmakers, by any chance? :)

Gib's an odd place - you must appreciate how small it is! There's 'enough' to do week-on-week, and for the first wee while you'll have lots to do and see. Once that's passed you'll have to rely on Spain - the 'better' bits of the Costa del Sol (shudder) - there are some decent clubs near Marbella - and make sure you get to Granada... that place rocks (scuse the pun).

Whatever you do though - please don't be 'British' when you're there - I spent my entire youth distancing myself from being from the UK. So, learn a little Spanish (or at least give the impression you are..) and just chill - 'Llanitos' (Gibraltarians) generally don't react to uppity Anglo-Saxonites very well.

Basically - it's a very simple life - laid back, there's not a huge amount to do right on your doorstep, but if you can get off your arse it's beautiful.

Oh yeah - make sure you visit Tarifa, and if you've got the munchies in Gib, go to "Gilbert's" near Casemates - practically the world's best goddamned junkfood, inmho.

Let me know how you get on - I'm always interested to see how 'real' people react to the Rock!
