look - too many people are getting fucking tattoos because it's 'cool'.
If you don't really want one - don't get one. If you don't know what you want, but know you want one, then wait until you can think of or see somehting that means something to you.

Thats why Idsont have one. I'd like one but I cant commit for life on something til it's perfect.

not to worry, i am not going to get chinese symbols, celtic designs, butterflies, or any other thing like that because they mean nothing to me. i would probably get my bf to design it as he is a million times more talented than anyone i know.... i just hope he will do it!

especially you said you want to be tatoo artist, you should design it yourself. What better way to start?
It will be more personal and if you ever break up w/ your bf you're stuck with his design for life.

wow, the van gogh tattoo would be great. i am a huge fan of paul gauguin and would love to get a tattoo one of his paintings but i for sure can't afford that!

yea, only do it if it means something to you. I designed a tatoo when i was studying in sheffield with the beach, sea, sun, mountains, sky and space round my arm cos i really missed seeing the sun and just got it as a reminde to myself that I need to live somewhere near the mountains and sea. Sheffield was kind of depressing at times. It looks pretty childish to me now but I still like what it represents and helped keep my head staright at times.
