I'm not sure if this is legal anyway but is it possible to have your Adobe CS software on 2 computers (Desktop and Laptop for instance)? I'm pretty sure that Adobe has a strict registration where you have to register in 30 days.
So I am just curious if it will allow you to use it on 2 machines since you must register it and if you will get in trouble if it's registered on 2 computers.

I think so, as long as you own both machines. To be sure, go to their site and look up licensing. I had to check something once and they have an extensive pdf of all the rules.

P to the I to the R to the A to the T to the E

I don't think they care who actually owns the machines. You can install and use on a desktop and a laptop for your own use.
I think most of the licences also allow for installing software that your company has purchased on your home machine...read the contract...

depends on your license to be perfectly honest, but you can do anything you want. ;)

You are allowed to install it on 2 computer as long as the software is not being run at the same time.

actually it says you arent allowed to "use it at the same time"...so it could be running on both, but withonly one user... So does that allow for batching on one while you work in another (just one user)?
(now we are getting to the stupid details)

Anyone have any more info on the registration process? Doesn't it not work anymore after 30 days unless you register?
- ribit0
no... you can tell it 'never register' if you want.

uhmmmm, dude fuck it ;-)

you can install and use it on more than one machine... you can use it at the same time also, but the second machine cannot be online... adobe fockers are watching your computers with spyware... wonder what else they can see??

OK, someone told me that there wasn't a never register option and that it would shut down on you in one month unless you do. That's why I believe the cracks have a txt file that makes it think your registed and doesn't ask you again. Not that I'm a pirate. I'm just curious. I'm planning on buying the CS package.

That's what I thought also that Adobe software comes with spyware. Does anyone have anymore info on that? Or do you know if Macromedia does it as well?
Creepy!

just get a firewall and don't allow the 2 apps to have access to the internet, voila, no spyware.

the 2 computers can be online at the same time... just use one at a time.
The Adobe apps phone home on startup (and do updates n stuff)..it's all documented and isnt that sinister. Theres plenty of 'how to stop it phoning home' instructions around if you really want to stop it'...

i think he might be on PC, i hear that it has activation similar to macromedia and M$ crap. as a mac user, after install, there is a 'never register' button and no need to register the software with a key or whatever. i hear they will add this to the next version of the suite....
- ms790
let it go. and run it on whatever.

A PC user told me about the stringent registation process. I'm on a Mac. If I was a pirate I would be pretty paranoid about the apps talking to their servers. Although, I'm pretty much a paranoid person in general.
It would seem like that strict registration process could help curb piracy. Although I guess a technology will always come out to defeat it as I mentioned there is a txt file that makes it think it was registered.
