so I changed my service from california to nationwide 2 months ago when I moved to NYC. Cingular now has NO RECORD of that changeover, and I now have 2 months of roaming charges they want me to pay.
Anyone ever have a similar experience ?

kinda off topic but still relevent:
on friday when i was driving home there was a "roxie" girl (you know the girls that are all into roxie and surfing even though they live in the prairies) and she was eating a piece of cake on a plate with a fork AND talking on her cell phone while she was driving! i wanted to scream at her! whatta dumb bitch

every time I ever call ATT or Sprint they give me a record #. Not with Nextel, eh?
that blows. Try getting the supervisor on the phone and explain that you arent a complete dumbass, and you dont move to a new state w/out changing your service. SUPERVISOR

i always seem to get screqwed by those sonsobitches.
verizon is pretty good.
you have to pay like $70/month but they just come out and screw you up front, it's better that way

when will they stop this 2 year contract b.s.? drives me crazy

ask to speak with their legal department...you'll see how fast they get nervous.
i hate cells...don't have one, don't want one. unless you're a doctor or lawyer, i don't really think anyone really NEEDS one. they're convenient as hell though.
- nLHb0
agreed sputnik, i too hate cell phones. sometimes they would be handy though... :/

write a letter explaining everything to them

you could change cingular to any cell hpone company in your title. they all fucking suck. they have you by the balls(whether you're a guy or girl) and they know it.
I m just going to buy 25 miles of phone cord and wallk around with my land line from now on.
oh and back to your concern. you will probably get stuck paying for some of the bill whether it's fair or not but call them up and demand the charges be dropped and tell them you are not hanging up until the problem is fixed. you will eventually get through to their so called 'urgent customer care' where something might actually get accomplished.

didn't they ever send you a reciept? did you do it online? over the phone? in person? call them, then ask right away to speak to the manager. then that persons manager. you have to go ballistic.
also. do you need that number? get out of the agreement (usually $175) which may be cheaper than paying the amount owed and tell them to fuck off and get a new phone and number.

Here is what you do, cause i was fucked by cingular too.
http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/complaint…
file an official FCC complaint, then call customer support and demand to talk to a 2nd level support person or a supervisor, tell them the story then tell them you have filed a federal complaint against the company. I did this because my phone was turned off for no reason and with no prior warning which is illegal disruption of a paid serivce. I called, threatned, and two weeks later they sent me out two 'notice to turn off phone' letters, post dated after my calls. What a fucking horse shit company, i hope it burns to the ground.
