the house cost 350K, which is erm...about 80K over our budget...hahahah..but we're looking at it more as an investment because we won't be here for more than a few years and the area is getting a bit of a facelift. The loan amount was for 320K as I had 30K to put down. I'm starting to sweat a bit about it now - closing is tuesday. This is my first house. I am dead excited but also shitting my pants.
we were paying 1,300 pounds a month in london for a one bed in hampstead. mugs we were! mugs!
our HOA fees are like...$120 i think...not too bad - we were looking at some lofts downtown and some of them were like $1,200!!! hahahaha

yo mg33. it kinda sucks. everything simple you take for granted sucks downtown. and shit is way expensive.
i moved out to the burbs. for 1450sq ft. and $135 in association fees i got a nice 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath with a loft and 2 car garage... and a large deck big enough for quite a few peeps. it's really all about location location location. i'm selling it for hopefully within the month (at least put it on the market) it was a good investmet. i'm looking to move maybe to downers grove, lombard, glen ellen or lisle area. say for ease of money sake i say mine is worth 300k. i know for a fact i can buy a comperable place, same size and probably a few years newer house for a third, or quarter of that down in scottsdale arizona. it's all about location. i don't think i could ever live downtown. i need my space.
