9.30 - 6 here.
I want to work less, maybe a four day week, I dont really care about the money.

Most of my mates aren't in design, make me feel like the only one who ever works late!
They're all out the office at 5pm and off at the pub for long lunches, have days doing nothing - "away days" for bonding with collegues, or off on company paid holidays.
But i'm not bitter.

i usually leave around 4.45 though, for i am a rebel.

i'm 9.30-6.
everyone else in the office stays till 7/8 most nights, even though there's no overtime. I tend to get bitched at, but I'd rather spend the two hours laid on a cold concrete slab than willingly spend "free" time there.

I actually resent working overtime, I actually insisted that I get paid OT rate for it or I wouldn't do it.. now I rarely do any - perfect!

yeah, that's the way it goes in alot of design companies I think... O/T is expected and is expected to be free

yeah I know, but well, they can fuck that. I dont agree with this post recession work mad regime born from fear of unemployment and I agree less with exploiting an employee because they might have some passion for what they do, which incidentally, I currently dont haha.

good point, i wonder if it would make a difference.
It annoys me how designers undercut other designers too. Don't they realsie that clients will just expect to pay less all round?

Unpaid overtime is shite, but its expected in this indusrty....and I hate working late especially when its due to bad time management....
.....and why is it project managers never work late but they always whinge about how busy they are!?
