You have a job. A great job. You like the people and everyone is cool as shit - plus you are learning a lot, and enjoying the learning process, about stuff you had wanted to get tighter on for a while.
The environment is ace, its a casual atmosphere, and you could see yourself being there for a long time...
Now suppose you had the opportunity to take on a project. A massive project that would take several months to complete and would ultimately end up with you running a web department to monitor, update, and control the new project. It's very corporate, very stuffy, and very conservative. But you would be taking this project from the start all the way to the finish - with complete creative control and the opportunity to bring friends in to work on it with you.
Oh yeah, you'd be making more than the job you aare happy at.
What would you do?

Do it. Do it.

if the guarantee was ironclad, I would be tempted. Well, i say "I" , but I would never be offered such a job. But if i were you, I would be tempted. Trust with verification.

honestly i would stay at your current job. i hate my job with a passion and would give anything to work in an environment where i liked the people and the work. you are very lucky, trust me.

This is purely hypothetical of course....

Leah - I know it. I have heard enough horror stories in my working life to write a book - I've been lucky enough to only have had to work with a couple of assholes over the years....

How is your job with flexability, i know some places have down time, are u getting paid hourly at the job u are at now, if so ask if you can take apay cut and balance both. Theres tons of options, but to the point where u are leavin everything that you are happy with for 7 months is it really worth it. We can sit here and give u everything we think but we arnt stuck with the outcome.
If anything i wish u the best on whatever u do homie.
- jevad0
thanks motokiss
don't think I could realistically pull off both without on or the other suffering. I get paid monthly - I would on the project too

not to sound horribly cynical - but I and many others like me, experienced this around '98-'02. And I ended up in a different city in a new apartment with no job and about two months salary missing.
...and a nasty cocaine habit.
just make sure the offer is solid and they have the funding - and plan to carry it through to the end.

what about maybe bringing in a partner that u feel comfortable with as in a freelancer. He get the higher pay cut well u work on it with him after hours and weekends. I dont know how busy your out of work schdule is (wife, kids, cut the grass, feed the dog)
