i'm very interested in learnig illustration... which schools are the best? i'm in the atlanta (georgia) area.

Digital or freehand? Any art school will teach you the same kinds of things. Definitely take lessons, Ekard, but getting a degree in illustration is a waste, in my opinion... Unless you want to become an unemployable fine artist or work at a comic shop.

i'm already a graphic designer and i work at an awesome ad agency - love my job
i just would really like to learn to illustrate to improve my work. i love flash/aftereffects and would like to incorporate illustration into that in the near future

ooops, my bad Ekard. I missed the fact that you said "illustration".
I guess I would look into Portfolio Center or ACA for Illustration and maybe Ga. State.
Don't know anyone who graduated from either of those with an Illy degree though.

don't know what kind of reputation it has though - if you're in advertising Creative Circus is the place to be.

Learn to draw first - take drawing classes.
Savannah had a good rep when I was looking into it 13 years ago.

Hey Brooke, what do you mean getting a degree in illo is a waste? You're an illustrator and you're doing pretty good right? I don't know what kind of degree you have but I sure wouldn't call an illo degree a waste. One could do much worse.

I would have to agree, SCAD - Savannah College of Art and Design is great for Illustration. I would also look at Ringling, which is in Florida.
