thanks!

hmmm...i had that years back and can't really remember. i think i got a lot of feedback on what i should keep in and take out of my portfolio. that was really good info and i think it got me my first job.
don't bring too much stuff though. just bring your strongest stuff so you have more time to talk with them about it and how to perhaps make it better.

avoid the embittered older designers who are unshaven and reek of alcohol-- they'll tear you a new asshole

I've been a reviewer for the past two years for AIGA Portland.
What I would suggest is know what your strengths are along with what you love doing. The passion shows when you're talking about it.
Make sure you have a full plate of strong pieces. Take a business card or some type of information that you can hand out to the reviewers.
I've seen more bad than good so make sure you make your work stand out.
And yes avoid the drunk older guy in the corner doing reviews.
Have fun with it.. Hope this helps.
Best,

Definitely let your passion show. Take your best things. A good combination of logic and emotion works best. Talk with the other peeps there too. See what their interviews had to say.
Which 3 are you interviewing with?

he hee - hey browncrown!
my interviews were with pov (point of vision), young and martin and roberts design (kathi roberts - president of aiga)
it went really well! no more excuses to skip work.

Do you interview to be accepted into AIGA? Or just pay the dues?

I'm glad that it went well. I worked with Kathi on a project last year. I haven't seen her in awhile. Where there many folks out tonight? I hope you got some useful feedback.

yo fate - no you don't have to get accepted into aiga. you just pay them and then they begin bombarding you with event invitations. as a student you get a much cheeper rate than as a professional.
browncrown - i really want to see your book! there were more reviewers than students - but still a lot of people total. i wanted to speak with grant and em2 and eai but thought i'd start with others just to get practice first.
kathi was cool. she got married last year to a guy she went to high school with - she seemed quite happy. what kind of project did you guys work on?
