Hey all motion designers, is there a simple way to make those "3D" style ribbons/arrows etc... you see flying around in all the trendy motion pieces in like www.brandnewschool.com does all the time? or how did they do that graff style arrow in the www.psyop.tv ad for LUGZ and the break dancers.? there has to be a simple way, i did one in maya but it took me days to set up... HELP. I need to learn.

unmaksing .png ribbons in AE 3d layers can be fun..not quite as comprehensively effective, but does a good impression, especially with some quick camera movements and motion blur..
Could even sequences/footage of waving 'ribbons' you create by adding wave distortion toa static ribbon pic.
