check the NTB for the links --
is this really 'art'? It's striking to say the least - but where and when do you draw the line?
I wish people would seriously stop and think before they 'create' - not due to the fact that their 'art' may be offensive - but due to the fact that people may accidentally see something like this.
With porn - alot of it is forceably hidden ('cept for the web)...
... but 'cum shots' by Ashkan Sahihi can be seen at specific art-shows and has actual right-ups in magazines... and the 'cum-shots' are absolutely REAL according to the article.
I guess what I'm saying is - porn is your own decision - but what if a person wants to come to this forum for design help or conversation that doesn't include rather 'questionable' imagery... especially from the NTB...
I'm not trying to be preachy here... AT ALL.... but where do you draw the line on what is 'art'... and where do you draw the line on what get's posted on in the NTB?
come on... is this really 'art'?

"I wish people would seriously stop and think before they 'create' - not due to the fact that their 'art' may be offensive - but due to the fact that people may accidentally see something like this.
"lmao. so they have to create political correct stuff just to be sure that no one accidentally can take offense from it? so basically art has to become elevator music? i don't mind it at all. you can bump into stuff accidentally anytime everywhere. mainstream or underground. always has been that way, always will. art has no rules and should not be bound to rules. basically you are talking about a censorship.

........too much for a Monday morning...

censorship and rules are one thing...
screw the term ' political correctness'... why does everything have to be considered political?
my opinion is that this showcase of photography isn't art.
people cum during sex.. yeah... but all over someone's face is something completely different.
Sex is intimate - would you or would you not be pissed if your g/friend or b/friend was out banging every person and having them cum all over their faces?
... yes... there are a select few that are all for the gang-bang and swinging....
... but these images - how can they be considered art? HOW? It's nothing NEW... it's shocking... but can only be defined as porn... which isn't art. Now, if it were part of film's story - and were necessary to get a point across.. sure... do it - and RATE IT.
But these are images of people with male semen all over their faces... FOR SALE... and so open to the public to get their hands on.
This kind of thing SHOULD be censored... and not broadcasted in the NTB of all places.

right, I haven't read all that but if you are trying to compare that to pornography you may want to ....................... ah whatever.

Couldn't you guess what it might be from the name? If you're that easily offended why did you bother to go and look at it? - Mary f'in Whitehouse.

i love starting crap on here...
... i'm sick
... but damn if it doesn't make my day to see people who consider themselves 'open-minded' come up with non-fact / non-thought-out overly emotionaly rebutles.
how many 'you're an idiot' comments or... 'lmao' type comments will this thread get.. or any other threads that have a bit of a conservative approach get today?
you folks for 'free speach' and liberal thinking need to start using sound reasoning and drop the emotional crap.
I WANT FACTS and solid arguements... not rants about neo-facist capitalistic socialist pigs who want all the money for themselves. That arguement is dead and SUCH A COP-OUT.
Get original you wimps. Come up with something other than an angry emotional 'F-U' type responce.
explain why you really think something shouldn't be censored... or why someone shouldn't /should be in office etc...
Give reason w/out insult.. you think you can handle that?

"When can we expect the female ejaculation gallery?"
hello

"..would you or would you not be pissed if your g/friend or b/friend was out banging every person and having them cum all over their faces?"
so you're assuming that all those persons in those images cheated.
actually those cumshots were from their boyfriends / husbands.
and what has that to do with this being art or not? or being linked over at ntb or not?
anyways, art is in the eye of the beholder. if you say it isn't art than that's fine with me.
rating a movie does work proper. just like explicit lyrics has proved to work proper (the labels / artists thank god for those labels which is a guaranteed sales increase and chances are that people will even listen to it more). anyways, rating, censoring, whatever, doesn't work. you might as well censor google or any other search engine. you might as well close down galleries, museums and libraries.
"... and so open to the public to get their hands on."
like they would never otherwise?
anyways, would it have made a difference if they didn't use the word cum shots? e.g. just ashkan sahihi photography, check it out?

I don't think it should be censored - but the all the photography on that site was crap, imo, and not really worthy of the NTB. That's the only thing that upsets me.

I smell a gimmick tagged onto some bland, uninspiring portraits.
I don't find it offensive, I just find it sad and pointless.

"There was a guy I really wanted to be in this series, and I thought, I'll have him blow me and I'll come in his face. But my wife put in the veto, and I let her. She said, "Please do not come on Mickey's face, no matter how good of friends you guys are."

... awesome responce...
... good points... thank you.
I'm not assuming anything about the imagery - I read the interview... my question was presented as a 'what if' scenerio to make you think in a very extreme personal way.
What if that was your sister on there?... or mother / father?
I guess I'm saying - do what you want... but why broadcast that stuff in the NTB? Where do you draw the line? Is there a line? Should I get out of the creative business because things like that bother me?
much respect rabattski... thanks for a true responce.

"I WANT FACTS and solid arguements..."
ok.
art is not bound by rules except gravity.
censoring doesn't work. see explicit lyrics parental advisory.
cumshot easiness (not worksafe):

I agree with moth. I actually didn't like the work but it has it place and it's not on some censors list.
I presume Ashkan is trying to normalise and personalise the 'taboo'. I found some of Cindy Shermans later series' put the viewer in a similar position but in a much more compelling and dare I say it shocking. You'd love it abbizzzzz :)
