There are a lot of folks who can't understand how we came to have an oil
shortage here in Canada. There's a very simple answer. Nobody bothered
to check the oil. We simply didn't know we were getting low. The reason
for this is purely geographical.
All our oil is in Alberta. All our dipsticks are in Ottawa.

Out here in Seattle its:
$2.15/$2.25/$2.35and that's 76 gas.
Shell stations top out at $2.47 a gallon as of yesterday.

oh my god gilt! i remember two years ago in a town called lethbridge (2 hours south of calgary) it was $.20 a litre... it was so nice! but $.88 is friggin expensive seeing as we are the oil capital of canada

Yeah it's pretty insane. However I saw on the news last night that in Malibu California one station's 91 octane topped out at $2.99
That was a first in history!
I read that it's the oil traders that are pushing the prices of oil. Its currently right around $40/barrel.
