hows it supported on other machines? not really standard eh?
thinking of including it in this xhtml site..
- DutchBoy0
well?
everyone got me on ignore all of a sudden?
i can understand it, but..
- ramon_c0
Well, I guess if the "target audience" of the site is mainly designers you could use Futura. I would use it myself, love how the Xtra Black looks with no anti-alias (11/12 px).
- Gorbie0
it's standard on osX right?
it always fucks up and causes conflicts with my full set in suitcase.
- DutchBoy0
thx dood!
well, it's not teh target audience but i'll include verdana and sans-serif..so..
i was thinking of adding Avant Garde as more people have that, but i am afraid it show as it's a bit different from the Futura i use in the logo.. any thoughts? please?
- DutchBoy0
it is, Gorbie?
hmm... lemme check..
- DutchBoy0
is there a site *out there* that lists this sort of stuff?
pretty please with jizz on top?
- ramon_c0
but i'll include verdana and sans-serif..so..

Yep. Avant Garde? Me doesn't have it. How does it look like? Similar to Futura perhaps?
- ramon_c0
Well, use Futura as default and then avant garde, verdana, sans-serif. I'm a sucker for Futura (Xtra Black) 'cause Kubrick used it for the credits in many of his films.
- DutchBoy0
damnit, i must have been inspired again!
but you are right..
thx for helping, bro!

wtf, me kens futura is as lousy as whiskin' bout yer city looms on low-rise jeans!
sure that geometric slab serif is parfect for the webbie. just because there is a serif to steady yer eyes like a weel-trainèd horse not jompin 'bout yer brain al the while.
if you're on a PC, i reckon.
- DutchBoy0
it's funny how multiple foundries offer the same typeface yet register the name differently..
on has ®
the other ™
and the third one was too late and has nothing..
- winter0
ahah! (tm) are expensive. (r) are cheap. (stolen) are naught!
but anyway: futura is hard to find in any system default, except for them Mac webbies whos' bramblin' bout the webbie on 15%. hard choice for commercial stuff really. unless built-in but that would bring you to flash-ah-ah, the king o' the universe...
- DutchBoy0
no flash here, sonny.
i think i'll just stick to good ol' verdana, sans-serif.
maybe some headers/titles in Futura as gif's with img alt's for proper usuability..
- winter0
yeah. good choice :)
but look for those headers:
it's geometric slab serif. cuts the boredom out o' the reading. futura headers are faves of architectjeen or like tha hell you pronounce that on yer flandres fields! ahah
- winter0
sorry! the wrong link. there's no serif there but the font is similar. v v beautiful.
- DutchBoy0
interesting site, winter!
still checking what the hell you mean with geometric slab serif altho it sounds familiar..
- DutchBoy0
hmm.. not really what i am looking for.. http://www.paratype.com/default.…
i was just inspired by Volkswagen so much!
i believe it's an adapt of Futura..
- winter0
chk yer mailbox.
PC zip folder. maybe some correction needed if you're to print. IT WAS STOLEN AS HUMANS USUALLY DO...
- DutchBoy0
great now they will come bust my door tomorrow.
