What do you do when your boss wants bevelled "GO" buttons and drop shadowed embossed text on his website?

I just recently was "creative directed" to make a "swooshie" around text for a direct mail postcard.
It made me want to go home and take a shower when I was done

hit filter>effects>bevel. and then go to the lunch room and have yourself a coffee.

ask him to add "international, ltd" to whatever the name of his company is.
then use globes on everything.

On etime my boss said my design was "too goth"
Cracked me up. Just cuz i was using black as the background. It was Impact as the font for cryin out loud. GOTH?

weird, my reply to another post just now (before i read this one) was "everyone loves bevels and drop shadows".
take him out. a high powered rifle with tactical scope should allow you to pick him off while staying out of the subsequent commotion.

LOL guys. Thanks for at least putting a smile on my face. Every day I drive to work hoping that when I arrive i'll be told that i'm laid off when i get there, so i can collect unemployment and work on getting my own company running. Seriously... you know that when a company is still using Photoshop 5.5, and Flash 5 with Generator you should close up the shop. When clients say to you (about your boss)... "I dont know who that guy was, but you'd better fire him before he embarasses your company anymore" you know that there's a problem.

Why are you acting like you're too good for beveled buttons? There ARE many good and clean examples that use that style and still mantain good design. Stop being a bitchy artist,
