i think this site is tremendously successful considering its TARGET MARKET and MAIN USERS

"not very usable if they are targeting 'rr users' or just those w/ broadband.
disagree all you want. get someone on 56k to 'use it' and watch how fast they close their browser."
I guess a target audience should be everyone?
- lilbabyarm0
weak. it's not bookmark-able

this coming from someone who uses wood paneling on thier site. home depot 'aving a sale?

yeah, but you don't invest only on assumption. I'd like to see stats for that site, and for how long people stay there..

the reason google succeeds is becuase it doestn have all the clutter and crap. I cant even copy and paste in this site.
This is a brilliant site and very well done, but it is not better persay. It is cool, but not better.
Google is fast simple, un clutterd and to the point.
where is the image search..
video is not needed as much as images.
Also the roll over states are cool, but after a while they get annoying and distracts from reading.
yes.. brilliant, yes innovative, no ... not a replacement for google.
- Donvitoviti0
another things..
Cant use back button, cant use built in back button on mouse
So pretty much by making this site.. you make a site that you cant copy paste, use back and forward buttons, cant search images... cant do Ctrl F
but it looks cool.. so... which would i use.... google.com.
Gotta think usability before coolness.... this is brilliant, but laking the most basic of features we all use over and over... therefore it isnt usable for the masses

you're preaching to aspiring 2A drones. they like flying clouds, uber-gothic fruitboot web'sights' and vin diesel...
- Donvitoviti0
well.. this site is more usable than 2As stuff. and acctually serves a purpose, unlike sites set in space and space ships that are just stores for Gap Style clothing..

damn mitsu, bad day today?

can't begin to tell ya...

Some of you are missing the point. It's not a replacement for Google, just showing how it is implemented in a flash site. And, dont even start going on about 56k, it's a broadband portal. Target audience is not 56kers.

For power users like us, google.com is more suited. The point of this link is to show the acheivement to have google running in 100% flash and a broadband version at that. For the majority of users, familys, moms, dads (not us) this version id say is more suited to the mainstream rr user becasue of the nicer and more friendly design. It seems better visually in all aspects but not as perfect from a function perspective. but some of you "misteq" are missing the point dramatically.

i'll give it credit for having google in a fairly nice flash envirnment.
as a portal it's fine as a replacement it's not
