Google has been fully implemented into the RR flash portal and what an awesome job! Its better than the html version imho. made by FI http://www.fantasy-interactive.c…

the type is hard to read and there is no image search (what i use google for most)...if they fix those things that site would rule

the site doesnt support mac users that dont have tahoma, i had that problem with my mac. but the search has video results which i think beats images. So it rulez :)

searched aol and ibm and it was as fast as the html for me. but im on broadband.
- Critical0
agreed, its slow for the first search but once the google app loads its as fast if not faster. i imagine rr's users dont see this problem after the first time they search seen as it cached, well i dont.
- mitsu0
not very usable if they are targeting 'rr users' or just those w/ broadband.
that site looks like photoshop and flash threw up....

sorry mitsu, i disagree. this is an amazing piece of work and greatly supports the flash vs html argument. Looking forward to seeing more from FI in the future.
- mitsu0
disagree all you want. get someone on 56k to 'use it' and watch how fast they close their browser.
also, when i'm looking for a keyword within the results, i might hit Ctrl+F to do a quick search rather than scanning
the text. not possible here.also, i may have appreciated their efforts more had they presented this feature ouside of their clunky home-page interface.

thats great.

the world won't be on dial-up forever. this is a helluva site.

roadrunner sells broadband, that is the homepage that you get when you subscribe to their service, so 56k users is a non-issue.

you can search text embedded in flash if that file calls an exterior text file...which would probably be easier than hard-coding it in a flash file anyway. very efficient and easy to update.
- mitsu0
you missed my point. i'm talking about after i did a search on google and the results were displayed, i could search them. at any rate, it's true, the world won't be using dial-up for ever and yes, it's also true that this tool was apparently meant for the rr clients that use the site, but in the end, i personally, wasn't blown away by it as i'm quite happy with the html-based google i use everyday.

it's nice but i cannot say it is better, Google is far more flexible in showing features like 'cached', 'related' etc..
- sputnik0
gotta love the "cached" feature =)

everyone loves bevels and drop shadows. hmmm.

usability=making sure every fucking person that can connect to the internet is satisfied by a website.
Right mitsu?
- tomkat0
for god's sake, why..?
it works like it is.

"usability=making sure every fucking person that can connect to the internet is satisfied by a website."
i don't remember saying that... or did you just need to be heard today?
