The UN never believed they had WMDs... quite the contrary actually. Powells security council address will go down in history as the biggest misrepresentation of the facts in order to rush into war.

Sorry, you're just plainly mistaken. France & Germany agreed to use their veto in order to prevent the use of force. If the majority of UN members agreed as you state, then 1441 would have been found to be in breech and the use of force sanctioned by the UN. Obviously that did NOT happen.

The argument you have is that the US rushed into the war. That is the argument. Think about it. The US rushed into war. Why? Why do you think the US rushed into war? What was the hurry?
Perhaps that France had a contract in 2002 to begin trading Euro's for oil and land development in Iraq? Germany too? Russia? China?
All the opposers. Those opposers cared not that innocent people were being murdered under the regime as long as these contracts remained in tact.
Why would TotalElfina show up at the UN the day the US decided it would act to try and prevent it?

Dont believe the hype, Brigman. You wont hear a fucking peep from this Administration about WMD's now, why is that? Thay fucked up and admit nothing. Sweep it under the rug and call it "a liberation". the fucking hypocrisy is outrageous.
Virtu and I have agreed on the real reason the Conservative's rushed to war; because Saddam's sanctions were almost up and he was going to begin trading oil with the EU in Euros instead of dollar. This would have devastated the value of the dollar. A rich man with dollars worth pesos aint shit. Think about it. The thing I don't understand about Virtu is that he realizes that this is the real reason why we rushed to war, but still stands by the president when he tricked the entire country into numerous other smokescreen reasons why the war was necessary. Sorry about the run-on sentences, but well... you know.

You said France & Germany. The two countries with the most to gain from Iraq. The two countries who are no longer the super power and would like to regain their world power.
It's ugly man. We all have leaders that are out for the money and power. It's the world we live in.
If you think that France & Germany had nothing to gain to prevent the US as best they could from declaring war you are truly brainwashed. BBC is not the bible and is not any better than CNN.
This is not about Bush wanting to go to war for his own wallet but is about Bush wanting to go to war to thicken the US' wallet and the opposers to thicken theirs.

Here is why Virtu and myself side with Bush.
Now that we agree that this was the USD vs Euro why would I (as an american) side with the Euro that would weaken my Dollar? Why would France side with the US if it would weaken the Euro?
This is why this argument will forever circle itself.

Bringman. don't presume that if one opposes the US foreign policy one automatically supports that of the French or Germans. As far as I know the Freance conservatives are under pressure politically. jeez
