Is it just me or is that a really weak lineup?
- tfsmag0
i dunno, i supposed it depends what you're into? I think it looks like a good mix of different music.... others may say "THERE'S NOT ENOUGH METAL!!!".
- swollenelbow0
seriously, weak. sonic youth, modest mouse, the flaming lips, danger mouse? pj harvey? morrisey? hmm...that is sucking...
but i thought they always had acts that were up and coming and acts that were already big? one thing is safe to say is that it's one big Mash Up™

I like the variety of the bands...but really...there are no massive names there - certainly the only interest I would have is Moz and The Fire Theft. And yeah, where's the fucking metal!! lol

boring
- swollenelbow0
the should put teh mike patton on the menu. with his boys the dillingers...
- nosaj0
Lollapalooza seems to always have a number of bands that I really like but bands that I should see in a concert hall that seats a thousand or two, not outdoors with 10,000 people at the show. Id' love to see Modest Mouse play, but not outside with a bunch of high school kids on a sunny afternoon.... I just don't think the format works well with the bands they choose.

That is indeed a shit line up.

Sonic Youth, The Flaming Lips & PJ Harvey aren't big enough?
I'd pay 45 bucks to see them each individually.
- Gilt0010
Sonic Youth and the rest of those guys are great (I've heard good things about Elbow too).
However, I don't get teh Polyphonic Spree. They look and sound like a bunch of gospel singing hippies. I suppose its the kitsch.
- jevad0
I missed elbow on that - great band!
- viktor0
Weak lineup?! Are you kiddin' me?
- viktor0
Yeah, it's mainly the kitsch and the concept behind The Polyphonic Spree.
Don't think it's a bad thing, though.

BSS, The walkmen, The Flaming Lips, BRMC- all those bands rule and I've been really wanting to see them.
However, seeing Sting Cheese Incident and Morrisey as the headliners makes me want to ubchuck on my desk.
Think I still might go though. Ha!

flaming lips, morrisey. damn, they think kids don't know how to fuck anymore or something...
- jevad0
hahahah!
- CyBrainX0
I'd love to see Moz, Sonic Youth, PJ Harvey and Modest Mouse, but I've only heard of one or two of the other bands. I would only consider the first day.
I heard the Pixies are playing the NY dates!!

I think it's pretty good actually. Lollapalooza has been a joke for about the last 5 years, unless you're into nu-metal or talentless BS rock.
But that list is hot.
Morrissey, Sonic Youth, Modest Mouse, BRMC, Datsuns, Sparta, Flaming Lips, Polyphonic Spree, Fire Theft, Elbow.Damn...
What I notice is that you don't see ANY bands there that are corporate whores like most previous Lollapaloozas.
- mg330
Soler, how do you know that Morrissey and String Cheese Incident (who are they?) each night's headliners?
Just because they're first on the list, I don't think that means that's the order.
- nLHb0
All I can say is Le Tigre?!!? I would go just to see them! The rest of the bands look sweet too.
I hope this come to Western Canada,,,
- mitsu0
thank god they finally got some good bands there. i'm tired of seeing those nickelback, limp bizkit, good charlotte, incubus-like bands. angst is so 1995.
