Hey guys and gals... Simply put, how do you make a transition like the one used here:
http://www.exopolis.com
or
http://avionics.flashlevel.com/I'm trying to get my head around it more than anything. I'm sure there are less complex examples but I figured someone here could simplify it.
thanks!

I'll try and check this thread religiously but if you want to email me some tips or a tutorial you've seen on this that would be much appreciated!
Thanks!

maybe if the scene is the same?

what specfically are you referring to?

Avionics uses After Effects for most of its "cool" transitions, but it's mainly just knowing the programs fairly well and then having an idea in your head. There's no real set method besides knowledge begetting creativity.

ok, well im not looking how they 'style' it so much.. I just want to know how they load and unload a movie when clicking on a different button.
with the first link is it a series of masks etc?

Inner, working on something like this today. I'll email you the file and post here for people to download.

wow..that exopolis site is sick..never seen that before
to do clean in and out transitions i usually have a generic "in" transition mask and a generic "out" transition mask
when you hit a button..you set a variable for the section you want to load..and then when the transition out happens...at the end frame of the out you load the variable that you just set when you click the button.

what id like to know is how they did those rollovers on exopolis in places like "featured spots"
anyone have any ideas?
im sure it involves slicing the string and replacing chars and a for loop, but i still have no clue

http://www.kirupa.com has a good transitions tutorial that's pretty basic. It's part technique, part creativity.
